Bring your new Merlot to Café Azzurro!!
2011-11-04 14:23:18
After reading our e-mail, you may start considering the rare, delicious, one-of-a-kind opportunity going on at the store today. Andrea and the team has decided to let everyone get a taste of the very elite 1998 Mayacamas Napa Valley Merlot. The Mayacamas Vineyards is a wine state that was built in 1899 and is located in the Mayacamas Mountains that divide the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. The old stone winery is perched on the edge of a volcano crater near the top of Mount Veeder. Fifty two acres of vineyards are planted on mountain sides ranging from 1,800 to 2,400 feet above sea level. This is simply a legendary producer. This wine exhibits highly attractive aroma and bouquet development. Its foundation suggests blackberries and currants and it really jumps out of the glass on swirling. This wine will improve for a few more years and be highly enjoyable for several more, at least.
NOW, what a treat it would be to take a trip to a restaurant just as delicious and unique as this wine you've just purchased-- Cafe Azzurro! Located on Main Street in Peapack, this quaint Italian restaurant has elegance and consistency yet embodies a relaxed environment-- perfect for a Friday night out after a tough week at work. This is the ultimate relaxation. **Hint Hint: Order the Gnocchi Bolognese at Azzurro with this Merlot-- the combination will be out of this WORLD!

Bourgogne Blanc & A Delictable Treat
2011-11-10 22:05:12
Lobster. Who doesn't love it? But not just love, who doesn't DROOL over it? So why not take one of the finest foods in the world and AMERICANIZE it by shoving the delicious meat into a roll. Sounds irresistible to us-- which is why this week we are giving you an EXCELLENT Lobster Roll with Lemon Vinaigrette and Garlic Butter recipe. If you aren't in the mood for bread, the recipe doubles as a salad option for the ingredients as well. So now that you've made your flavor blasting lobster treat, you need a nice, crisp WHITE wine to wash it all down. We have chosen to pair the Lobster Rolls with one of our feature wines this week, the 2009 Viré-Clessé "La Verchère" Bourgogne Blanc. Brothers Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret adhere to one simple philosophy: "Exceptional grapes make exceptional wine." As such, they plough their organic vineyards, they use no weed killers or systemic chemicals on their 25 to 65 year old vines, and they limit their yields by natural methods such as de-budding. Their aim is to mature healthy grapes that yield highly concentrated juice. The 2009 Viré-Clessé "La Verchère" is a true expression of White Burgundy. Citrus and minerality join forces with beautiful fruit flavors to make a truly harmonized bottle of wine. This is perfect with any seafood-- but for such a classic, elegant, and powerful bottle it needs a counterpart just as fit: Lobster!

Uncork the Holiday Season!
2011-11-18 00:53:26
For your Thanksgiving Dinner we have the perfect wine for you. The 2009 Fontanella Chardonnay is our pick this year to pair with your turkey and stuffing. We pair this with a Turkey dinner to compliment the lean meat with a crisp, white wine. This Chardonnay has a white peach, pear, and fuji apple aromatic scent. Tropical notes illustrate the initial aromas including honeydew, lychee, guava and sweet melon showcasing the beauty of mountain fruit. The wine finishes with sweet vanilla and graham cracker notes topped off with a silky, lingering layer of cream. Need we say more? Wash down your turkey with this treat-- we guarantee all of your guests will absolutely love it!
