Survive the Winter with Malbec
2012-01-19 22:30:51Well we were wondering when Winter was going to come-- I think it is safe to say it is officially here and officially COLD! Don't let the cold weather get you down-- instead, stop by the shop and pick up one of the 2008 Pulenta Estate Malbec from Alto Agrelo Mendoza. For all of you white-wine-only people, a malbec is a great transition into red wine and a little bit warmer than your daily chardonnay for the winter months. We are loving this malbec: it is brimming with elegance, structure and silky tannins, it has a saturated plum color, and leads to aromas of rose petals and graphite. The luscious mid-palate swells with flavors of ripe plum and cherry with a touch of fresh blackberries towards the end. The fine, powdery tannins and a robust, herbal-infused, lengthy finish leave a lasting impression. Pair this wine with any mexican dish or red beef that can stand up to the robust flavors of the malbec. We suggest bean and beef chimichangas-- this one is great for the whole family- but only the adults get to wash it down with our featured malbec.
