A Trip to Spain

This week, we are featuring the 2009 Pingus Psi from Ribera del Duero as one of our feature wines. This bold, spanish red needs to be complimented with a rich yet flavorful dish to bring out the natural flavors of the spanish grape, Tinta Fina. The grapes are taken from Ribera del Duero which is located in Spain's northern plateau and is one of eleven 'quality wine' regions within the autonomous community of Castile and León. It is also one of several recognized wine-producing regions to be found along the course of the Duero river. Dominio de Pingus PSI 2009 is made from 100% Tinta Fina coming from old vines in the prized Ribera del Duero. The wine has a dark, cherry-red color with purple edges on the rim of your glass. It is filled with intense aromas of ripe fruit, rose petals and timber wood.
