About the Wine

When we opened the 2011 Mascarello Scudetto Barbera D'Alba Barbera for a tasting recently, everyone was RAVING about this wine...including us!  It comes from a renowned Italian producer, and the wine is simply MARVELOUS.  Powerful flavors and a well-balanced palate give this wine plenty of character.  We always love the wine that Mascarello produces, and this one is without a doubt one of their best!

About the Winery

The Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio estate has a long history in the Piedmonte region of Italy.  Fourth generation owner Mauro Mascarello currently runs the winery.  The traditionally-styled winery dates back to the mid-1800s when Giuseppe Mascarello made a name for himself by managing the vineyards of other landowners.  Today, the estate is considered one of the greatest Barolo producers.
