Chene Bleu Limited Edition Gift Box (2-Bottle and 3-Bottle Formats Available)

Nicole Rolet, Principal of Chêne Bleu Wines, says:  "I first got the idea for a show-stopping display box about 8 years ago. I wanted to explain the story of our two flagship wines, Abélard & Héloïse, named after the famed medieval French lovers – the Romeo and Juliet of France. I wanted to showcase them as the protagonists at the heart of the story of our little vineyard through a unique piece of design. But it ended up taking another 8 YEARS to produce this limited-edition Gift Box, and I’m SO HAPPY that it’s finally seeing the light!"

2-Bottle Format includes The Limited Edition Gift Box with one bottle each of the Chene Bleu 'Abelard' Rouge and the Chene Bleu 'Heloise' Rouge–$224.99

3-Bottle Format includes The Limited Edition Gift Box with one bottle each of the Chene Bleu 'Abelard' Rouge, the Chene Bleu 'Heloise' Rouge, and the Chene Bleu Blanc–$274.99

Gianni Gagliardo 2016 Experience Barolo Wood Gift Box

The origins of Gianni Gagliardo date back to 1847, when the Colla family first began working vineyards in the Langhe zone of Piedmont. It was Paolo Colla, the fourth generation of the family who, in the 1960s, began bottling his own wine in the township of La Morra. Today, the sixth generation of the family; Gianni’s sons, Stefano, Alberto, and Paolo, are the guardians of the estate. Stefano, the first-born, a careful and competent oenologist, has taken charge of the style of the wines, which are characterized by a tireless search for elegance, balance, and harmony.

About the Winery

Acquired and managed by the Kerschbaumer family since 1940, the Kofererhof estate has existed in southern Tyrol, a region that is as Austrian in spirit as it is Italian, for over 850 years. In 1995, the winery started to bottle its own wines after having sold its fruit to local wineries for years. Kofererhof’s tiny 5 hectares of vines are located at the base of the Dolomite mountains between 2296 and 2624 feet above sea level. At this high altitude, the variation in temperatures from day to night is ideal, and the carefully tended, high-density vineyards yield intensely fragrant, concentrated and well-balanced wines. Practicing organic, all grapes are harvested by hand and attention to detail is paramount in this limited production winery; total production for the estate is only around 3,500 cases of wine per year. The quality of these wines raises the bar for all whites from Alto Adige.

 About the Wine

Gunther Kerschbaumer is the agronomist and winemaker and the wines produced are typical of this area and more similar to the wines made across the border in Austria than to the traditional Italian whites. Dense plantings combined with altitude, high temperature during the day and cool nights in summer result in fresh, aromatic and fruity wines with a good structure and mineral notes. 100% Gruner Veltliner grown in gravel made of silt and of sand of Morainic origin. Straw yellow hues in the glass, one can expect to find an intense, fruity nose with slight nuttiness on the finish. On the palate, there are fresh, flavorful flavors accompanied by spice and a well balanced finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Kofererhof is located in Valle Isarco, one of the most privileged spots in Alto Adige for intensely focused, mineral-driven whites. Proprietor Gunther Kerschbaumer began estate-bottling his own wines with the 1995 vintage, and since then Kofererhof has emerged as one of Italy’s most exciting properties"–Antonio Galloni

About the Winery

Vincent Punier created his Domain in 1988 when he inherited 5 acres from his parents. Today the domain is comprised of 32 acres of vines located on the prestigious hillsides of Auxey-Duresses, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. The wines are hand-harvested and vinified in a traditional manner, aged in classic percentages of new, one year and two year old oak barrique. Vincent seeks to create wines that have great energy, vibrancy and balance. Vineyard practices include ploughing the vineyards to encourage deeper roots which in turn enables the vines to capture the complexity of the terroir of each site. Vincent created his domain almost from scratch and has grown it carefully over 30 years. As a “one man show” he has been intrinsically involved in every aspect of production including many hours working in the vineyards and time spent in the cellar fine tuning his wines. He lives above the winery located in Auxey Duresses and his Auxey Duresses rouge vineyard sits directly across the road. This close physical proximity underlines the very personal signature he makes on each wine he produces.

About the Wine

With an average vine age of 50 years, the vines are situated on a bed of limestone and clay soils. The wines are hand-harvested and vinified in a classic, traditional manner, aged in a mix of new, one year and two year old French oak barrique for a period of 11 to 18 months before bottling. When poured, bright ruby red hues shine through the glass. The nose is well balanced between rich aromas of small black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry and bilberry) and flower scents. As a young wine it still has subtle tannins that will soften with age and its texture becomes velvety with aromas of leather and spice. Pairs well with white meats, cold cuts, roasted pork or veal, rabbit, pasta dishes, risotto and grilled fish. 500 cases produced.
