About the Wine:
100% Favorita from estate-owned vineyards located in the Roero, near Monticello d’Alba. The wine only sees about 80% malolactic fermentation in tank and is then bottled, maintaining its freshness and charm; 2016 was the first vintage in which Favorita did not undergo clarification. Fallegro is a proprietary name combining the grape name Favorita (AKA Vermentino or Pigato) and "allegro," meaning cheerful in Italian.
Fallegro was created in 1974 as one of the first vinification of Favorita grapes. This is the Piedmontese version of Vermentino, which is however cultivated far from the sea, in a continental climate that characterizes the terroir of the wine. Furthermore, with some effervescence on the palate, this lovely, crisp wine has notes of green apples and ripe pears. Fresh and fragrant, ideal as an aperitif and easily combined with the food.
